Things to check:
1 preferred processor chip FTDI or SiLabs
Wireless Network Repeater
Favorite 2 chip serial driver: ZyWyn, Maxin or NI
At least 3 5VDC output serial port
4 Build-a static protection, at least 600W
5 Lights LED TX and RX activity
Details:
1 preferred processor chip FTDI or SiLabs
This is the most important step. The reason why we recommend a USB to Serial RS232FTDI chips with a processor or SiLabs either, because this is simply the best. We have extensive experience with these, showing us that these processor chip works with most devices and systems on the market. The drivers are very stable, easy to install and compatible with all versions of Windows 32/4-bit, Mac, Linux.
Favorite 2 chip serial driver: ZyWyn, Maxin or NI
The serial driver chip, which is actually the provision of communication and power signalsfor the device to the USB-RS232 adapters. We recommend a brand ZyWyn driver chips, Maxin or NI, as these are very reliable and works well with SiLabs FTDI chip and processor.
At least 3 5VDC output serial port
We recommend a USB adapter with at least 5 VDC for the serial transmission / reception of signals. Then a signal of strong communication and the device is powered enough. The output power is measured by the signalLand to the signal and the signal Tx Rx.
4 Build-a static protection, at least 600W
Built-in Static protects the USB-serial adapter for both voltage spikes caused by static electricity or surge voltage generated in the delivery. This problem can have both the USB connector and the end 232.
5 Lights LED TX and RX activity
Not required, but very nice to have. The ability to actually see when data is transferred through the adapter is a greatAdvantage when solving problems. This makes it easier to understand what the problem is, if your computer, connect the device to the adapter or the adapter.
Things to avoid:
- Avoid the adapter with a low cost processor chip, such as Prolific. The drivers are poorly written, not compatible with newer operating systems and provides unreliable communication.
- Avoid the adapter with a low power (less than 5 V DC). Low output enables communicationunreliable or even impossible.
